You’re going to do it again.

From the pit in your stomach to the spark in a stranger’s eye.

You’re going to recognize the vast expanse within and without you, that pulls you toward a meaning that you may never even fully grasp. But you will feel what’s real.

And you will likely notice the guilt too, when you witness the fucking miracle of your own joy. When only seconds ago there was the void. And it is always only seconds away— it cannot go. That is the deal.

Which is why you will do it again and again. You will find the stack of stones. The broken little branch. Your partially covered tracks.

It’s embarrassing to return to yourself, after some significant time who knows where. But you will do it, undo it, and do it again.
